Private Tour to Tulum Ruins, Gran Cenote and Yal Ku Lagoon
Cliffside Mayan ruins. Crystal-clear cenote waters. A brackish lagoon teeming with tropical fish. Three completely different experiences — one private day, your pace, your group only.
Three of Tulum's Greatest Natural and Historical Highlights. One Private Day.
Why This Full-Day Tour Is the Most Complete Tulum Experience Available
Most visitors to Tulum see the ruins or swim in a cenote — rarely both, and almost never three distinct highlights in a single day. This private tour combines all three of the area’s defining experiences: a guided visit to the Tulum Archaeological Zone, perched dramatically above the Caribbean Sea; a swim in Gran Cenote, one of the most beautiful freshwater sinkholes in the Yucatán with crystal-clear turquoise water and stalactites visible from the surface; and time at Yal Ku Lagoon, a rare brackish inlet where freshwater from underground cenotes meets the Caribbean Sea, creating an ecosystem full of colorful reef fish and gentle marine life. All private — just your group, a certified guide, snorkel gear included, and no group buses or strangers.
Tulum Archaeological Zone
El Castillo, the Temple of the Frescoes, the Wind God Temple — all explained by a certified local guide with the context most visitors never get.
Gran Cenote
One of the Yucatán's most photographed cenotes. Crystal-clear water, visible stalactites, resident turtles. Snorkel gear provided.
Yal Ku Lagoon
Where freshwater meets saltwater — an exceptional snorkeling experience with colorful tropical fish in calm, sheltered water. Unlike anything else in the region.

Why Choose AB Transfers for This Tour
We’re based in the Tulum area. These are our local stops — not distant destinations we’ve read about on a map.
Gran Cenote Without the Crowds
Timing matters. We plan the cenote visit to avoid peak hours so your group can actually enjoy the water without queuing behind forty strangers.
Yal Ku — The Underrated Gem
Most Tulum tours skip Yal Ku entirely. It's one of the best snorkeling spots in the Riviera Maya and our guides know exactly how to make the most of your time there.
Fully Private — Your Group Only
No shared vehicles, no group pace, no waiting. Three stops, all private, all on your schedule.
Frequently Asked Questions

The tour includes private round-trip transport from your hotel or rental, a certified bilingual guide, entrance fees to all three sites (Tulum ruins, Gran Cenote, and Yal Ku Lagoon), full snorkel gear including mask and fins, life vests at both water stops, and cold water in the vehicle throughout the day.
The full experience runs approximately 8 to 10 hours from hotel pickup to return, depending on your starting location. Tulum is the shortest pickup — around 30 minutes to the ruins. Cancun adds approximately 1.5 hours each way. We recommend an early morning start to visit the ruins before the heat and crowds peak.
Gran Cenote is an open-air freshwater sinkhole located just 4 km west of Tulum town. It's one of the clearest and most photogenic cenotes in the Yucatán — visibility in the water extends several meters, stalactites hang above the surface at the cave entrance, and resident freshwater turtles frequently swim alongside snorkelers. It connects to the Sac Actun underground river system, the longest underwater cave network in the world.
Yal Ku Lagoon is a sheltered natural inlet in Akumal where underground freshwater from cenotes mixes with saltwater from the Caribbean Sea. This brackish environment creates a unique habitat for colorful tropical reef fish that you won't find in a standard freshwater cenote. The water is calm, shallow in parts, and extremely clear — making it excellent for snorkelers of all skill levels. There's no current and no waves, so it's particularly good for children and first-time snorkelers.
Basic swimming ability is recommended, but you don't need to be an experienced swimmer. Life vests are provided at both Gran Cenote and Yal Ku Lagoon for anyone who wants extra confidence in the water. The snorkeling at Yal Ku is calm and shallow — suitable for beginners. Gran Cenote has a deeper section but also shallower areas near the cave entrance where less confident swimmers can enjoy the experience comfortably.
Yes. The Tulum Archaeological Zone has a small beach directly beneath the cliff ruins, accessible from within the site. After the guided ruins tour, your guide can point you toward the beach access if you'd like a short break before heading to Gran Cenote. Time at the beach is flexible and built into the morning portion of the tour.
